Córdoba Appoints Kuki Zalazar and Calderón to Squad for Second Division Campaign

Kuki Zalazar and Calderón will play in the Second Division with Córdoba

Córdoba Announces Contract Extensions for Two Key Players

Córdoba has announced the renewal of two crucial players for their project in the Second Division, securing their services for the long term. The team has reached agreements with both Kuki Zalazar and José Manuel Calderón, ensuring they will remain with the club until 2025 and 2026, respectively.

Kuki Zalazar, a Uruguayan attacking midfielder, will stay with Córdoba until 2025, with the option of an additional year depending on the team’s objectives. Calderón, a full-back from Seville, will continue to defend the Córdoba jersey until 2026. Despite being courted by other teams in the category, including Elche, who made him an attractive offer, Calderón has chosen to remain loyal to Córdoba.

José Luis Zalazar Martínez, also known as Kuki, has been instrumental in Córdoba’s promotion to the Second Division. Since joining the club in the summer of 2023, he has played a vital role in the attacking midfield, contributing 30 games, four goals, and seven assists in his debut season.

Córdoba’s decision to extend Calderón’s contract is a significant coup for the club, considering the full-back has become a key player in their plans to achieve promotion. In the 2022-23 season, he played 71 matches and was instrumental in the team’s success, providing five assists and three goals.

These contract extensions reinforce Córdoba’s determination to build a strong squad for the long term, complementing the earlier renewal of Almeria goalkeeper Carlos Marín, who will remain with the team until June 30, 2027, making his the longest contract among the three players.
