Olympic Village Debunked: Separating Fact from Fiction on Anti-Sex Beds and Massive Air Conditioning Spending

The Olympic Village put to the test: the hoax of anti-sex beds and the massive purchase of air conditioning units

Paris Olympics Delegations Prepare for Summer Games with Innovative Cooling System

Paris, France – The Paris Olympics delegations have taken steps to ensure a comfortable stay for athletes during the summer games, ordering 2,500 mobile air conditioning units to cool 7,000 rooms in the Olympic Village. The village’s cooling system, which does not rely on air conditioning, may not be sufficient to keep the temperature below 26 degrees Celsius, especially during the hot summer months.

The Olympic Village, located in the towns of Saint-Ouen, Saint-Denis, and Ile-Saint-Denis, spans 52 hectares along the River Seine and offers a range of services, including a gym, café, and post office. The rooms have beds measuring 90 centimeters wide and 2 meters long, which can be adapted to the needs of larger athletes.

To avoid the environmental impact of traditional air conditioning, the firm Solideo, responsible for building the Olympic Village, has chosen to implement a radiant floor cooling system powered by a small geothermal power plant. This system is efficient and serves to reduce the temperature of the apartments.

Laurent Michaud, director of the Olympic and Paralympic Village, stated that each delegation is free to decide whether they need additional cooling measures to keep their rooms comfortable.

Hoax of Anti-Sex Beds Debunked

The Olympic Village has also addressed rumors that the beds provided are fragile and may not be suitable for sexual activity. The beds have a bed base made of cardboard, a mattress divided into three blocks of different firmness levels, and are made from resin fibers used in some fishing nets. To demonstrate the solidity of the bed, a representative of the company that designed the beds, Japanese Airweave, jumped on the mattress, stating, "Look at how much I bounce and I weigh 80 kilos."

Olympic Village Offers Unique Training Facilities

The Olympic Village has also converted facilities into training centers for athletes. Many athletes will not need to leave the village to train, as they will use film studios previously installed in the premises, such as those used for the production of "Emily in Paris" and "The Walking Dead." These enormous hangars will be converted into a giant weightlifting hall or basketball court for a few weeks.

The village will also feature small electric motor vehicles from Toyota and information panels with sound for Paralympic athletes, who will be staying in the same venue.

Olympic Village Preparations Underway

The Olympic Village is set to welcome delegations starting July 18th, eight days before the opening of the Olympic Games. The village is equipped with 14,200 beds distributed across 96 buildings built specifically for the event. With its innovative cooling system and unique training facilities, the Olympic Village is poised to provide a comfortable and convenient stay for athletes during the summer games.
