In Ouham-Pendé, peanut cultivation represents an outlet for the population. But the fighting between rebels and pro-government forces is slowing the development of this sector.

The cultivation and trade of peanuts offer an important financial windfall for the Central Africans. But the sector of this legume is now in danger due to conflicts – the country has been plagued by civil war since 2013 – which have intensified since the last presidential election at the end of 2020.
