Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja took India past the 400 mark with a score of 98/5. The duo put together a huge and record partnership of 222 runs for the sixth wicket. Both also completed their centuries one by one. Pant scored 146 runs on 111 balls with the help of 19 fours and four sixes, while Jadeja scored 104 runs on 194 balls with the help of 13 fours. Both Pant and Jadeja also set many records with their century innings.

Indian goalkeeper Rishabh Pant has credited Ravindra Jadeja for his stormy tackles. He praised Jadeja fiercely and said that if he hadn’t been there, it wouldn’t have been so easy for me. Speaking on BCCI TV, Pant said that I think every century scored in international cricket matters.

Speaking of Jadeja, he said that in order to make that association and score, there has to be a person up front that he can trust. I think standing in front of Jaddu bhai has made a difference. Jaddu bhai was playing with such ease and restraint that I was gaining confidence at the other end that he could hit.

Speaking of the match, India scored 416 runs in the first innings with the help of centuries from Jadeja and Pant. After this, Indian fast bowlers outscored England with 284 runs and gave India a 132-run lead. In the second inning, India had scored 37 runs for a wicket loss by teatime and his lead had grown to 169 runs.
