Ryan McMahon had three hits, including a tiebreaking solo homer in the bottom of the eighth inning, as the Colorado Rockies beat the San Diego Padres 5-4 on Saturday.

CJ Cron and Charlie Blackmon also homered for the Rockies, who won their second in a row after suffering seven straight stumbles at home.

Manny Machado had a four-corner shot for the Padres, who suffered their ninth straight loss to the Rockies at Coors Field.

It’s San Diego’s longest losing streak on the road to Colorado, its NL West opponent.

The Padres fell to second place in the division, a half game behind the Los Angeles Dodgers.

McMahon, who entered the game batting .179 in June with 21 strikeouts, capped his big game with a solo shot off Luis Garcia (4-4). The ball went over the fence in right-center field and into the Rockies’ bullpen.

Alex Colomé (2-0) took charge of the eighth inning and did not receive a score, to get the victory.

Daniel Bard struck out Machado and grounded out Luke Voit with two men for his 14th save in 16 chances.

For the Padres, the Dominicans Machado 4-2 with a run scored and two produced, Nomar Mazara 4-0 with an RBI. Colombian Jorge Alfaro 4-1.

For the Rockies, Venezuelan Yonathan Daza 4-1 with a run scored. Cuban Jose Iglesias 4-1.
