Club Mauricio Báez is crowned in Women's Basket

The Mauricio Báez Club was crowned champion last night of the 37th version of the Superior Women’s District Basketball Tournament, Seaboard Cup, by beating 77-68 in an exciting match against Las Águilas de Guachupita.

In this way, the Mauricio Báez girls retain their championship that they had won in the last 2022 version of the tournament organized by the National District Basketball Association (Abadina). This tournament, won by Mauricio Báez, was dedicated to councilor Liz Mieses.

Jennifer Jiménez stood out for the Mauritian team with 27 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists; Cesarina Capellán, with 22 points and 9 rebounds, and Génesis Evangelista, 13 annotations and 7 captures.

While for Las Águilas, who provided a great game, Sugeiry Monsac stood out with 35 annotations and 18 rebounds, Ángela Jiménez with 11 points and 12 rebounds and Mari Coronado with 8.

After the exciting victory, the coach of Mauricio Báez, Alberto Zabala, highlighted the collective work, the support of the board of directors and the fans.
