With an investment of 13.5 million pesos, the Ministry of Sports and Recreation (Miderec) is advancing steadily with the rehabilitation of the facilities of the emblematic Club Calero de Villa Duarte, in Santo Domingo Este.

“We are checking the structures that are in the process of being repaired and today we are visiting the Calero Club,” said the Minister of Sports, Francisco Camacho, during a stop in the entity in the eastern part of Santo Domingo, whose works are advanced and include installing a new deck.

“Speaking with the engineer in charge of the reconstruction of this emblematic facility, he tells us that it will be finished by June 21 or 22, to be delivered to the community and the athletes by the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader,” he said. Camacho.

The engineer Miguel Reyes, in charge of the works, reported that, in addition to having changed the plank, the roof and the entire structure were repaired, which included the application of paint.

He added that seats will be installed in the stands, the boards, the bathrooms, the parking lot and even the 24-second clock that is damaged will be repaired.

“This installation will be completed by June 21 or 22,” confirmed the engineer Reyes in front of Minister Camacho, who has been immersed in an extensive delivery program of renovated facilities, in many cases and built ones, in others.

Reyes added that the amount of the rehabilitation works of Club Calero is 13.5 million pesos.

The extensive program of reconstruction and construction of sports works implemented by the Ministry of Sports and Recreation covers the entire country.
