Claire An, Delgado and Botran, the J100 Trinidad Cup finalists

The American Claire An was crowned champion of the Santo Domingo J100 Trinidad Cup, which was held at the Parque del Este National Tennis Center, where players from 20 countries on five continents took part.

In men’s doubles, the duo of Cesar Cruz, from El Salvador and Andrew Delgado, from the United States, champions of the Caribbean Cup last week, were once again crowned in the Trinidadian Cup, this time against Rohan Belday, from the United States, second favorite and Rafael Botran Neutze, from Guatemala, by 6-0 6-2.

The Santo Domingo J100 Trinitarian Cup is valid for the Juniors ITF ranking.

The U18 event gave 100 points to the winners, 60 to the finalists, while the semifinalists took 35.

Sergio Tobal was the director of the contest and vice president of Fedotenis; the Cuban Abel Álvarez the ITF referee, Francisco De los Santos the assistant.

The international tournament was sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism, Banco De Reservas, Transporte Sheila, Creso, Ekatex, El Nuevo Diario, Wilson, Plásticos Viñals, Vilas Tennis Academy and D’oficinas.

Thus, after finishing the Trinitarian Cup, two exciting weeks of tennis at the Parque del Este conclude. The previous week the Caribbean Cup was played.
