Church fire: Muslim youth saved many people by risking his life

Cairo: A young Muslim risked his life to save people trapped in a fire in a church in Cairo, the capital of Egypt.

A fire incident occurred in a Cairo church yesterday, as a result of which 41 people were killed and dozens were injured.

According to Al Arabiya, after the fire in the church, the young Muhammad Yahya Abu Marwan risked his life to save several people from the fire and in this attempt he himself was injured. Abu Marwan suffered a broken leg bone and is now undergoing treatment in the hospital.

Talking to the media, the young man said that he lives near the church, when he came out of the house on Thursday morning, he saw a terrible fire in the church and people inside were shouting ‘Save’.

He said that after hearing the voices of the people, he jumped into the fire to save the civilians inside, Muhammad Abu Marwan pulled five children out of the church while helping several men and women to get out.

Eyewitnesses say that when Abu Marwan went to rescue an old man surrounded by fire, he slipped while picking him up and suffered severe injuries to his foot. The young man came out limping carrying the old man, he sat down on the ground due to pain.
