Chinese Teen’s Farewell Party Honors 17-Year-Old Bonny with Cancer, Fans, and Friends

A young girl’s final farewell was anything but sorrowful. For 17-year-old Bonny, who was battling terminal cancer, it was a chance to be herself and say goodbye on her own terms.

Guicong Studio, a team of professionals, brought her vision to life. They created a custom farewell ceremony that was both personal and meaningful. At the center of it all was “Olivia,” a character Bonny had designed. The team brought Olivia to life through rigging, making her appear vibrant and full of energy.

The ceremony was filled with elements that Bonny loved. Standees of her favorite characters, such as Nagi and Reo from Blue Lock, Mizuki from Project SEKAI, and Diluc from Genshin Impact, were displayed prominently. Cosplayers added to the festive atmosphere, and friends gathered to share stories.

A Celebration of Bonny’s Life

Bonny’s mother asked the guests not to focus on her daughter’s strength or resilience. Instead, she encouraged them to share what Bonny meant to them. The medical team adjusted her medication to ensure she was comfortable throughout the event.

The farewell ceremony wasn’t just a local event. It spread across social media, particularly in China, where Bonny’s story and Olivia’s character gained traction. Creators, artists, and cosplayers joined in, producing content that celebrated Bonny’s life and legacy. They bid farewell with smiles, ensuring Olivia would be remembered for a long time.

The event’s atmosphere can be seen in this video.
