Motorcyclist Crushed Under Truck After Collision in La Teja, Montevideo, Suffers Ankle Fracture

A woman on a motorcycle was involved in a collision with a delivery truck on Wednesday afternoon in Montevideo’s La Teja neighborhood. The incident occurred on Carlos María Ramírez Avenue at the intersection with Heredia.

The motorcyclist, a young woman, attempted to overtake the truck on the right. She got wedged between the truck and the curb, was hit, and fell under the vehicle. Fortunately, her injuries were not life-threatening – she suffered a broken ankle.

Investigation Underway

The truck’s occupants were unharmed. The motorcyclist was not licensed to drive and her motorcycle lacked a license plate, according to News Agency. Emergency responders and police from the 24th precinct arrived at the scene. The case has been referred to the Public Prosecutor’s Office for further investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident and to determine responsibility.
