For the third consecutive time, the October Group supports this event that brings together the best teams and players in the country. The main objective of carrying out the Cup on this date is to remember the disappeared chess players and all the victims of the last civic dictatorship. military event that took place in our country from 1976 to 1983. Also to celebrate 40 years of democracy.

This League was founded in 2016 and is played by 30 teams from all over the country, divided into different categories: Superior, Mixed, Youth, Blitz and Rapid. The champions of each category qualify to play the National Champions Cup.

The 14 teams classified for this Cup were: Obras Aysa, Ferrocarril Carril Oeste, Republic of Martelli, Municipality of Quilmes, Ventajederez Plastigal, SUTERH, Torre Blanca, CUV Centro Universitario, Tres de Febrero, Ushuaia Jaque Mate, Boca Juniors, Club Argentino, Forward Reconquista and San Isidro; remaining the positions in this order, being crowned champion “Obras Aysa”, a team made up of GM Federico Perez ponsaGM Leandro Krysa and the MI Ernesto Real de Azuabeing the teachers, maximum figures of Argentine Chess, members of the Olympic Team.

This edition also had the participation of Grand Masters and International Masters, such as the GM robert hungaski (USA), GM Sergio Slipak, GM Ariel Sorinand the Female Masters, members of the Olympic Team, WIM Anapaola Borda Rhodes and WIM Maria B. Sarquisamong others.

The tournament was valid for the ELO RAPID World Ranking and was held under the arbitration of the AI Beatriz Liendroofficial of the International Chess Federation (FIDE).

From the organization were present Alexander Sass of the Metropolitan Chess Federation, Emiliano Ojea President of the Argentine University Sports Federation (FeDUA) and a benchmark for PxC Deportes and Tatiana Alonso Camosalso from Peronism for the City.
