The Permanent Committee of the Vegan Temple confirmed the exaltation of José Migue Robiu to sports immortality, who will be exalted in the next ceremony that will take place on Sunday, September 25 at 10 in the morning.

Chemi’s career as a goalkeeper began in 1981, standing out as one of the best shooters in the country of all time, being crowned national champion in 1982 and retaining that title for more than 25 consecutive years, setting multiple national records, some still in force. .

 

He is the winner of 30 gold, 8 silver and 3 bronze medals in a brilliant national and international participation.

Chemy-Robiou established national records in the Indoor 25m category, with 348 points and 18m with 572 points, both records still in force since December 1982. He was national champion with records included in: 30m, with 346 points; in 50 meters with 319 points.

Likewise, he set records in the 70m distance with 318 points. As well as in the 90 meters. with 309 points. He also set national records in 2002 in Vuelta Fita with 1,282 points and in the double Vuelta Fita with 4,522 points, still valid 20 years later.

Robiou was consecutive champion of the six (6) first editions of the Juan Pablo Duarte Archery Cup in Santo Domingo, winning a total of 29 gold and 2 silver medals.

He also participated in 4 Copa Sánchez in the city of La Romana, managing to win a total of 23 gold medals and one silver. He competed in the Mella Cup of the Archery Association of Santiago in the years 1998-2002, winning 28 gold medals and three silver.

And in the Independence Cup of the Shooting Association of the province of La Vega, Robiou competed in 5 editions winning 22 gold medals, two silver and one bronze.

At the international level, he represented the country on several occasions, becoming the first athlete of this discipline to participate in the Central American and Caribbean games: Havana, Cuba 82.

He participated uninterruptedly in Santiago 86, Mexico 90, Maracaibo 98, San Salvador 2002, achieving silver and bronze medals, being the first Archery athlete in the country to obtain a medal in these games.

In addition, he established, together with his son José Miguel Robiou Sanabia, a Central American and Caribbean record, by becoming the only father-son couple to date to have obtained a medal in the same discipline.

Chemy participated in the Pan American Games in Santo Domingo 2003 and Brazil 2007. He won medals in international events such as the Mexican Olympic Festival (2002), where he won a Silver and 3 Bronze medals.

In the Grand Prix of the Americas Venezuela 1991 he won Silver and Bronze. In the World INDOOR / MICA competition, held in Cuba 1999, she took the bronze.

In the Juan Enrique Barrios tournament held in Puerto Rico (2001), he won 5 gold medals and one silver. In the same tournament, in 2002, he won 4 gold medals, one silver and one bronze medal. In the Golden Diana Tournament of Cuba he won a Bronze medal.

He currently chairs the Dominican Federation of Archery and the Archery Association of the province of La Vega and has served as president for Central America and the Caribbean of Archery (TCA) and vice president of the Pan American Archery Confederation. Archery (ACT).
