Castilla gets on the podium

Castilla’s fifth lifts the whites to the podium. Raúl’s subsidiary achieved a meritorious victory in Linares with which they snatch the third position in the table from the Azulinos, in a hectic match that was resolved by the early goal from Arribas (5′) and the sentence from Dotor (74′) when it seemed that the locals were closer to achieving a tie. The meeting was not without controversy. In the final stretch of the game, Linares enjoyed a penalty to close the gap, but Lolo González hit the crossbar. Before, in the first part, those of Alberto González had claimed another maximum penalty, for a clear handball from Carrillo that the referee García Gómez did not see; and practically in the play before the 0-2 the referee annulled a goal to Hugo Díaz for a more than tight offside.

With almost no time for either team to settle on the green of Linarejos, Arribas dealt the first blow. He had warned in the previous play and put Castilla ahead with a shot on the ball and a very similar execution by the squad (although at a shorter distance) of the second goal he scored last day against San Fernando. The goal left Linares out of place (if they had had time to be so) and Obrador had the opportunity to make the secondbut Ernestas Juskevicius reacted with good reflexes to repel the ball.

Linares claims a first penalty

Linares’s reaction appeared after a quarter of an hour, very incisive trying to enter on both flanks, but without being able to find a finisher. As soon as Samu Corral demanded the intervention of Mario de Luis. The hand in the area of Carrillo not penalized could have changed the outcome of the game at minute 25, but Linares had to continue breaking stones.

Castilla had five good minutes at the start of the first half in which they were able to extend their lead. Arribas was generous when, in a good shooting position, he gave the ball to the right to Peter, whose pass of death did not find a finisher. The whites were able to kill the game there, but the wake-up call helped Linares to react. The Azulinos continued to percussion on the flanks, but without hitting the area, nor through the blackboard. And when Castilla needed it, Mario de Luis appeared, crucial in both shots by Hugo Díaz and Rodri.

From possible 1-1 to 0-2

The best play by Linares in the game ended in a goal by Hugo Díaz, but the referee did not validate it for offside. In fact, Samu Corral’s position seemed more adjusted when he received the ball to assist his teammate than that of the scorer. Castilla, relieved, found the 0-2. Between Fran Callejón and Lolo González they were not able to clear Peter’s cross from the left and the ball remained dead for Dotor on the goal line to sentence.

The penalty at minute 86 ‘could have given life to the end of the game, but Lolo González’s shot against the crossbar meant that, in the end, the match languished in five minutes added which the arbitrator ruled. Castilla rises to third position in group 1 before facing a mini-marathon that will take them to face Cultural Leonesa, Rayo Majadahonda and Talavera in a period of eight days.
