Rookie Corbin Carroll preceded two home runs, including his first grand slam, as part of a seven-run seventh inning as the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Detroit Tigers 11-6 on Friday.
Carroll also added a double in the ninth as Arizona handed the Tigers their seventh straight loss.
On Wednesday, in a 6-2 win over Washington, Carroll was 4-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs. The speedy outfielder has a .307 average.
Merrill Kelly (8-3) improved to 7-0 in his last six starts, giving up three runs and seven hits in 6 1/3 innings of walking two and striking out five.
Jake Rogers homered twice for the Tigers and Javier Baez hit one in the ninth.
Michael Lorenzen (2-3) assisted six runs and seven hits in 6 2-3 innings. He walked one and struck out three.
For the Diamondbacks, the Dominicans Ketel Marte 3-0 with two runs scored and one RBI, Geraldo Perdomo 4-2 with two RBIs. Puerto Rican Emmanuel Rivera 4-2 with three runs and an RBI.
For the Tigers, Puerto Rican Báez went 5-2 with a run scored and an RBI. Cuban Andy Ibáñez 2-0.
