Cardano (ADA) Up 9% After Valentine Upgrade

Cardano’s ADA token is up more than 9% after announcing that the Valentine upgrade has gone live on the Cardano mainnet. Input Output Global (IOG), the company behind the development of Cardano, announced the news in a tweet on Valentine’s Day.

That’s right, the tweet also mentioned that the Valentine upgrade on the Cardano mainnet includes support for Plutus SECP cryptographic primitives.

IOG explained in a follow-up tweet that interoperability is critical to the growth of blockchain and that supporting SECP cross-chain interoperability natively while ensuring the highest level of security.

What is the Cardano Valentine upgrade?

The Cardano Valentine upgrade is a major update to the Cardano mainnet, which went live on February 14, 2023. This upgrade supports new features and protocols that improve network performance, interoperability, and security. Among other things, the upgrade introduces the Plutus SECP cryptographic primitives, which enable developers to create cross-chain decentralized applications (DApps) that are secure, reliable, and cost-effective.

Due to its focus on academic research and the application of a peer-reviewed process to develop new features, Cardano is gaining popularity among both investors and developers.

The introduction of the Valentine upgrade and the support of cross-chain interoperability can further increase Cardano’s popularity. This is an important milestone for the Cardano project that is gaining popularity in the blockchain community.

ADA price up 9 percent

At the moment, Cardano’s ADA token is one of the best performing cryptocurrencies today. It is currently trading at USD 0.3925, which is about 9% higher than its price a day ago.
