California: thousands of people evacuated due to a new fire

It is baptized Mill Fire. A fire has already destroyed several homes and threatens hundreds of others, in the United States, in the far north of California, on the border with Oregon. The local authorities ordered, Friday, September 2, the evacuation of thousands of inhabitants in the face of this fire progressing at an alarming speed. According to washington post (in English)at least 5,800 people had to leave their homes.

“Your life is in danger. Legal order to leave immediately. The area is, by law, closed to the public”, intimates the evacuation order, which applies to the towns of Weed, Lake Shastina and Edgewood, among others. The flames are progressing “at a dangerous pace”said the fire department of the county of Siskiyou.

This new fire comes as California is hit by an extreme heat wave, with temperature peaks of up to 46°C expected next week.
