British army chief orders army to be ready for war with Russia

LONDON: General Sir Patrick Sanders, who recently took over as British army chief, has ordered troops to be ready to fight Russia on the battlefield.

BBC report General Sir Patrick Sanders, who took over as British Army Chief last week, told all ranks and civil servants that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine indicates that we must be ready to protect Britain.

He says the military and its allies must now be “able to defeat Russia.”

A defense source told the BBC’s defense correspondent Jonathan Bell that the tone of the message was not surprising. He says all troops train to fight, but the threat has clearly changed.

“The world has changed since February 24, and now we need to build an army capable of fighting together with the Allies and defeating Russia in the war,” General Serpatrick said.

The British Army Chief has stated that his goal is to “expand the scope of NATO and prevent Russia from further occupation of Europe by bringing in British troops and innovating.” “We are the generation that will prepare the army to fight again in Europe,” he said.
