Bern: British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss says Russia is legislating to seize the assets of those responsible.
Speaking at a conference on the recovery of Ukraine in Switzerland, the British Foreign Secretary said it was the duty of Britain and other countries to help Ukraine’s economy recover as soon as possible.
He stressed the need to revive Ukraine’s economy in the shortest possible time, saying “we need to help returning Ukrainian citizens and provide them with resources for a better future.”
He said Russia would have to make up for post-war losses in Ukraine, and that the British government was considering legislation to seize the assets of Russians responsible for the war.
“By confiscating Russian assets, we can use them to rebuild Ukraine,” he said.
