BRICS wants to stop the hegemony of the West

Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa – BRICS foreign ministers are meeting in South Africa. The alliance is essentially trying to counter the growing geopolitical hegemony of Western countries.

This was reported on Thursday. The main conference of this alliance will be held in Johannesburg on August 22. In advance of that conference, the foreign ministers of the member states are meeting in Cape Town.

The possibility of Russian President Vladimir Putin attending the BRICS summit has sparked controversy. He has an International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrant against him. The agenda of the meeting was not disclosed.

However, analysts believe that issues such as the development of relations between the current members and the expansion of the alliance may be discussed.
