The stage was set for the BLAST Open Lisboa 2025, an international Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) tournament, with two Brazilian teams, FURIA and Imperial, ready to take on the best of the best. The competition kicked off on Thursday, with both teams facing tough opponents in the group stage.
Imagine being in a high-stakes game, where one wrong move can cost you the match. That’s exactly what happened to Imperial in their match against G2. The Brazilian team had a rocky start, losing a crucial eco round with four glocks and a desert eagle. Nemanja “huNter-” Kovač, a force to be reckoned with, took down 36 opponents on the Mirage map, giving G2 a 1-0 lead. The second map, Inferno, was a closer contest, but G2 still managed to take it 13-11, sending Imperial to the lower bracket.

Meanwhile, FURIA faced off against NaVi in a highly anticipated match. The two teams have a long history of rivalry, and this match was no exception. NaVi took the first map, Anubis, with a 16-12 score, and then dominated the second map, Mirage, with a 13-8 score, sending FURIA to the lower bracket as well.
As the teams look to bounce back from their losses, they’ll have to navigate the challenging road to qualification, which begins on Saturday. Imperial will face Liquid at 7:00 AM (Brasilia time), while FURIA will take on M80 later in the day. The stakes are high, and only four teams will make it to the playoffs.
