The Celtics are now closing in on the top spot in the Eastern Conference, thanks to the Cleveland Cavaliers’ latest slip-up – their fourth loss in a row. The two teams are now separated by just five wins and losses.
The Cavs, who have lost their grip on a 16-game winning streak, fell to the Phoenix Suns 123-112. Kevin Durant went off for 42 points, leading the Suns to their third straight win.

Durant had one of his best games of the season, hitting 17 of 29 shots. Five other Suns players scored in double figures, including Devin Booker with 17 points and Tyus Jones with 16 off the bench.
On the other side, Darius Garland led the Cavs with 18 points, but star player Donovan Mitchell had a quiet night with just 7 points on 18 shots, including 0 for 8 from three-point range.
The Oklahoma City Thunder, meanwhile, are solidifying their spot as the NBA’s top team, taking down the Charlotte Hornets 141-106 at home. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 30 points in just 30 minutes, while Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren added 14 points each. The Thunder now have 58 wins and 12 losses, and are still in the running to reach 70 wins by the end of the regular season.
