Bill Russell, eleven-time NBA champion with the Boston Celtics, died this Sunday at the age of 88, his family reported with a message on the former player’s Twitter account.
"Bill Russell, the most prolific winner in the history of American sports, passed away this Sunday peacefully at the age of 88, with his wife, Jeannine, by his side."informed the family of the legend of the Celtics.
Russell played his entire career for the Boston Celtics, from 1956 to 1969, and was the star of the "Dynasty" who won eleven rings, eight of them consecutively.
