Cricket Board of Control in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah has confirmed that the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League will take place in India. Shah said this at the ‘The Champions Call’ ceremony of Chennai Super Kings victory at IPL 2021.
The BCCI secretary said: “I know that everyone is waiting to see the Chennai game in Chepauk. This moment is not too far away. The 15th season of the IPL will be in India and with the addition of two new teams, it is. It will be. much more exciting. ” Jay Shah added: “A big auction is taking place so it will be interesting to see what the new combination looks like.”
The 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League started in India, but the tournament was postponed in the middle due to multiple COVID-19 cases at the franchise’s camps. The remaining games of the season were finally played in the United Arab Emirates in September-October. Previously, all IPL 2020 matches were played in UAE.
