Big move by BCCI, Kishan and Iyer removed from central contract

BCCI has taken a major step and dropped Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer from the central contracts list. Despite constant warnings, Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer ignored the Ranji Trophy. Now both players are no longer on the BCCI’s central contract list. BCCI has released a new list of players on central contracts. Along with Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja also received an A+ grade. These players receive an annual salary of Rs 7 crore from the BCCI. 6 players were placed in the A class, 5 in the B class, while 15 players were placed in the C class.

BCCI was upset with the attitude of Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer. After taking a break from the series against South Africa, Kishan was constantly told to make a comeback and play in the Ranji Trophy. But Kishan ignored BCCI and did not even take part in a single Jharkhand Ranji match. BCCI had made it clear that all players who are not on national duty will have to take part in the Ranji Trophy.

Clouds of danger lurk over Iyer and Kishan

However, Shreyas Iyer found himself in another controversy. Iyer was ruled out of the Test series against England due to poor performance. Iyer excused the injury for not taking part in the Ranji Trophy. But the National Cricket Academy exposed Iyer’s lies. NCA made it clear that Iyer is fit and has no problem playing.

After leaving the central contract, the future of Iyer and Kishan in Team India is now at risk. Rohit Sharma recently made it clear that the team management will not waste their time on players who are not hungry to play. By taking action against these two players, BCCI has also sent a message that domestic cricket cannot be ignored at any cost.
