RIYADH: Saudi Arabia and Qatar have introduced a common payment system.
According to details, the Saudi Central Bank ‘Sama’ has said that a joint payment system has been introduced for retail sales between Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
According to the Subak website, there will be a collaboration between the Saudi payment system ‘Madi’ and the Qatari payment system ‘Nabus’.
Sama has said that holders of a Madi card can pay for purchases in Qatar, while Qatari nationals with a Nabus card will be able to pay for purchases with their card in Saudi Arabia.
According to SAMA, the payment on retail sales between the two countries will be under the Gulf system. It should be noted that under the Gulf Payment System, citizens and resident foreigners of all Gulf countries who have local bank cards can use ATMs of any country.
