Beriguete, Estela and Trinidad win gold in the National Junior and Cadets Championship

Beriguete, Estela y Trinidad ganan oro en Campeonato Nacional Junior y Cadetes

The representatives of the National District and the province of Samaná were awarded the first places, by teams, in the National Fencing Tournament in the Junior and Cadet categories that was held with resounding success at the Codia venue, organized by the Fencing Association of that province.

The event, which had the support of the Dominican Federation of that sport, brought together some 150 athletes, in both branches, who competed throughout the day last Saturday until reaching the final battles.

Gold medalists in singles

The novice fencing athletes, Marcos Sebastián Beriguete D. Ana Laura Estella, D, Omar Trinidad, La Vega and Raydelin Figueroa, won the gold medals in the different modalities after achieving resounding victories against their rivals in the finals.

Junior category in Men’s Saber

Marcos Sebastián Beriguete from DN won the gold medal,

José M. Mota, from Samaná, kept the money.

Erick A. Mercedes, the bronze Bronze, Johan M. Carela, the bronze Bronze.

Women’s sword: Ana Laura Estella from DN won the gold medal, Yaneiris S. Javier from Samaná obtained the silver, María Peña, won the Bronze as well as Isaura M. Inoa.

Children’s Category (13 years).

In the men’s épée modality: Omar Trinidad, La Vega took the gold, Jean Carlos Jiménez de La Vega settled for silver. Jail Penzo Albert R. Vasquez, Prov. Duarte took bronze.

Children’s female sword (13 years).

Raydelin Figueroa, Prov. Duarte, caught the gold, Cristina Burgos, from Samaná, the silver, Yolaini Mejía, Prov. Duarte, took the bronze and Ana Isabel Hernández, the other bronze.

Youth category (18 years). Daniel de la Paz, DN, obtained the Gold and Mateo Sita, DN, the silver.
