Benidorm wins by the minimum; Anaitasuna and Sinfín, tables

Handball Benidorm surprised Fraikin Granollers (28-27) in a match with a heart attack ending That allows the Alicante team to rediscover victory and move away from the bottom of the classification against an opponent who is slowing down in their qualifying climb.

After a first half dominated by the Catalan team, Benidorm re-emerged in the second to balance the game and decant it in their favor, in the last moments, thanks to the enormous performance of its goalkeeper Roberto Rodríguez.

For the first few minutes, Granollers always had the command on the scoreboard, although for distances that never exceeded two goals. The Catalan team was tough and compact in defense and seized on the inspiration of Pol Varela and Antonio García in attack, who contributed nine of the 15 goals scored by their team. Benidorm appealed to a more choral and elaborate game in which Argentine Vainstein and pivot Iker Serrano shone on the scoring side.

Despite Benidorm’s efforts to adhere to the game, Granollers hit the gas in the last moments of the first period to take advantage again (13-15) after a goal by Antonio Garcia on the horn.

Passing through the changing rooms revitalized Benidorm, which after scoring a 2-0 run at the start managed to balance the score again but Granollers immediately raised the defensive bar again to get their maximum advantage (16-19, min. 39).

The Alicante team held onto the game thanks to its goalkeeper, who made several worthwhile saves that gave wings to his teammates. Two goals from Reina and the scoring appearance of Álvaro allowed the locals to achieve their first advantage in the middle of the second act (21-20). Shortly after, the visiting coach, Antonio Rama, stopped the game and Granollers, now led by Chema Márquez and Antonio García in attack, managed to balance the score again.

The two teams made the rubber in the last minutes, although after a 0-3 run for Granollers the game seemed lost for Benidorm. A time-out by Latorre restored faith to Benidorm, which Nacho Valles once again put in advantage, already at the last minute. In the last action of the game, Chema Márquez tried a desperate launch, but he found again a great Roberto, the great architect of the local comeback.

Anaitasuna and Sionfín tie at 29 points

Helvetia Anaitasuna drew 29-29 away this Wednesday against Unicaja Banco Sinfín in a match, on the twelfth day of the ASOBAL League, weak on both sides, but charged with emotion, since the alternate advantages that did not exceed two goals, except in the first stages of the duel, followed one another.

A draw that did not satisfy either team. In the case of the Cantabrians because they urgently need to add points and have not won since last October 10, while the Navarrese team arrived at La Albericia with better sensations than they have given this Wednesday after beating Ademar.

The Navarrese team did not take long to take advantage of the scoreboard, taking advantage of the concessions in defense and the errors in the launch that the Sinfín had at the start of the game. But, after the first ten minutes, the local team reacted by printing more speed to their attack actions.

Ramiro, on the far right, was closing differences until the veteran Lon established the equalizer against a rival who missed two penalties and as many exclusions from the Sinfin.

Although the Sinfín went on to carry the weight of the game, Anaitasuna’s outside launch balanced the forces and halftime was reached with a tie on the scoreboard, to end a first half with more errors than successes in both squads.

The second part began with the distribution of goals between a Sinfín who found it very difficult to overcome the Navarrese defense, to then fit goals from a rival who resolved his possessions in a few seconds.

After twenty minutes with alternate advantages, of no more than one goal, Víctor Montesinos’ team, led by Ramiro, scored a 3-0 run to gain a two-goal lead that momentarily gave them control of the game.

However, Anaitasuna took advantage of a new exclusion from Sinfín and it was reached at the last minute, with a time-out requested by Montensinos and a draw in the electronic score. The Cantabrians scored their possession and gave Anaitasuna 8 seconds, which, after a new time-out, was enough for them to tie through Eduardo Fernández.
