Barracas Central - Board of Trustees: scandal over the arbitration of Baliño and the VAR

Four players and a member of the Board’s coaching staff were arrested after the incidents occurred on Tuesday night after the game that team played as a visitor against Barracas Central. The scandal broke out after the referee Jorge Baliño, supported by the VAR, clearly favored the AFA president’s teamClaudio Tapia, by unusually annulling two goals for Patronato.

“It makes me want to go home”

The Patronato soccer players clashed with the police, as well as their coach, Facundo Sava, who stated that he “doesn’t want to lead anymore” after the defeat against Barracas Central.

“It makes me want to go home,” remarked the technical director, visibly affected by Jorge Baliño’s bad refereeing during the match that was played tonight at the All Boys stadium for the tenth date of the Professional Soccer League.

Barracks won 2-1 in a key duel for permanence, which had various incidents, with specific plays and the intervention of the VAR in favor of the Tapia team.

Baliño and the VAR

Already in the first time Baliño expelled a Patronato player for a minor offense. He then disallowed a legitimate Patronato goal for a non-existent offending.

Despite the disadvantage, the away team equalized and then turned the score around, but the referee annulled the second conquest for a penalty that only the VAR saw against a local footballer in the previous play.

This led to complaints from the players of the Board of Trustees and their coaching staff, led by Sava, and when the match ended, with an agonizing goal from Barracas, they went to rebuke Baliño.

Out of himself, Sava insulted the referee and his players did the same, which prompted the intervention of the police officers, who placed their shields in front of Baliño to protect him.

Nevertheless, several players eluded the fence and clashed with some police officers, including Juan Barinaga, substitute for the Board of Trustees, who pushed and threw an agent to the ground. Little by little things calmed down, but when Baliño retired to the locker room he received a new barrage of insults from the Board of Trustees delegation.
