Barcelona will receive Guardiola's City for a benefit

Barcelona and Manchester City will play a friendly match on August 24 at the Camp Nou stadium promoted by Juan Carlos Unzué, a former soccer player and coach who has amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).

Unzué, Diego Maradona’s former teammate in Seville and Luis Enrique’s assistant in Barcelona, led the presentation of the match together with the president of Barcelona, Joan Laporta, and the City manager, Josep Guardiola.

“It will be a charity match to fight against ALS,” announced Unzué, who in mid-2020 said that he suffered from this disease without a cure. Barcelona has already published the ticket sales on its official website and reported that the proceeds will be used to raise funds for the Luzon Foundation’s research against ALS.
