Xavi Hernández has repeated it both actively and passively: Barça need the involvement of a right-back in this transfer market. The name that interests the most is that of Joao Cancelo, but the complexity of the operation forces the sports directorate to find alternatives and it is here that Iván Fresneda’s option gains strength.
The Valladolid footballer welcomes his move to Barça. Deco, his main backer, has asked his representatives for time to try to fit the operation into financial “fair play”.. However, according to reports from Relevo, Fresneda has other options on the table which have expressed his desire to sign him. We are talking about two clubs from the Premier League, Sporting de Portugal and Porto.
Barça were the first to send a formal offer to Valladolid, which was estimated at estimated eight million fixed euros plus ten variable euros (the termination clause is 20 “kilo”)). But the Pucelano club dismissed it.
Barça’s first option to reinforce the right-back is known to be that of Joao Cancelo, although the complexity of the operation forces the Culé sport management to consider other alternatives. In case the Blaugrana don’t get the green light for the City player, Fresneda would be the first option. However, they are not two incompatible signings and the club would try to accommodate both Xavi’s wish (cancellation) and a player with a future (Fresneda).
