Key Signing for Racing
Racing has secured its first signing of the winter market, bringing in Víctor Meseguer from Valladolid on a loan deal until the end of the season. Meseguer, a midfielder from Murcia, will join the team under the guidance of José Alberto in La Albericia this Friday and may even be included in the squad for the upcoming match against Albacete on Saturday.
The loan deal includes a purchase option for Racing at the end of the season, addressing one of the team’s primary needs in the center midfielder position following the long-term injury of Iñigo Sainz Maza. With Meseguer on board, José Alberto now has four players to choose from in this position.
Meseguer has a prior working relationship with José Alberto, having played under his guidance during the 2020-21 season at Mirandes. He also played alongside Inigo Vicente during the 2021-22 season.
Transfer Details
Valladolid paid over two million euros to Granada for Meseguer’s services last summer. Despite being part of the team that earned promotion to the First Division, Meseguer has had limited playing time, starting only two matches and accumulating a total of 407 minutes on the field. He also started two games in the Copa del Rey.
In the Second Division, Meseguer has an impressive record, with 132 matches under his belt. He played a crucial role in the promotions of Valladolid and Granada, as well as during his two seasons with Mirandés.
