Baramulla Battery Blast Injures Shopkeeper as Late-Night Explosion Destroys Storefront

A severe inverter battery explosion tore through a Baramulla storefront late Tuesday night. The blast injured a local shopkeeper and triggered a heavy joint security response. In a region where sudden explosions routinely prompt immediate militant containment protocols, authorities quickly isolated the March 24 incident at the Nanak Bhawan market as a localized hardware malfunction. The explosion destroyed a massive quantity of commercial stock. It caused no structural damage to adjacent shops.

The injured shopkeeper is Towseef Wani. First responders safely evacuated him from the shattered Maqbool Provisional Store shortly after the blast. Emergency personnel shifted him directly to Government Medical College Baramulla. He is currently receiving medical treatment. Hospital staff are actively monitoring his condition.

The sheer volume of the late-night explosion drew an overwhelming physical response. Personnel from the Jammu and Kashmir Police arrived alongside the Army’s 46 Rashtriya Rifles and local Fire and Emergency Services. They rapidly secured the area. As breaking news from this part of the world often involves physical conflicts, the heavy deployment of the Rashtriya Rifles reflects standard operating procedure for any sudden blast in the district.

Police have opened a formal preliminary investigation. They need to ascertain the exact cause of the blast. Early scene evaluations point directly to a catastrophic inverter battery failure. No other injuries were reported during the incident.
