Attacks on property and vehicles with incendiary substances in Sri Lanka

Colombo: A series of incendiary attacks on property and vehicles has begun in Sri Lanka.

According to details, despite the Sri Lankan nationwide curfew, city-to-city attacks and demonstrations are continuing, with protesters attacking property and vehicles with incendiary substances.

Security forces have been ordered to shoot at the miscreants, but protests continue, with at least nine people killed and more than 200 injured.

According to the Sri Lankan military, the resigned Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has taken refuge in a naval base.

On Wednesday night, President Gotabaya Raja Pakse addressed the nation, in which he totally ignored the issue of resignation despite strong demands, on which citizens are sharply criticizing him.

How did Sri Lanka fall victim to the economic crisis?

In his first national address since the start of the protests last month, he offered to give some of the presidency powers to parliament, but did not set a timetable on which the Sri Lankan people, who are facing an unprecedented economic crisis. Demanding his resignation, he was not impressed by the speech.

Sri Lankans say they do not need reforms but what they need is the resignation of the president.
