Asonahores says hotels in La Altagracia can continue operating; airport receives international flights today

The president of the Dominican Association of Hotels and Tourism (Asonahores), Andres Marranzinireported that this afternoon they will begin receiving international flights through the Punta Cana airport.

He said that, this noon, they will hold a meeting to assess the damage in the hotel sector, but they continue to operate.

He indicated that Hurricane Fiona caused material and vegetation damage, but, but the hotels remain in operational capacity, there are special cases that are going to be addressed now at the meeting in which authorities from the Ministry of Tourism will also participate,

He stated that most of the hotels will be able to continue operating in the Eastern region.

In Samaná, where the hurricane has caused damage, there is still no report of what happened, said Marranzini when interviewed by Alicia Ortega in SIN news.
