The information received so far details that most of the damage was reported in gardening and street access issues, which have been rapidly being assisted, both by the Dominican authorities and by the brigades of the hotels themselves.

“The vast majority of hotel rooms are operational and it is reported that in most hotels the damage to infrastructure was minimal, and that the main impact was seen on light structures on the beaches, as well as fallen trees and bushes.” reported the president of Asonahores, Rafael Blanco Tejera, through a statement, who also welcomed the great collaboration provided by the relief agencies and the different authorities of the Dominican government to assist the affected areas.

The union also pointed out that the Punta Cana International Airport reported that its operations will resume this Monday afternoon, as well as at the Las Américas International Airport in Santo Domingo.

Asonahores highlighted the good behavior of international and local tourists, who followed the emergency protocols and highlights that many of the visitors, after the storm passed, have shown a collaborative attitude to enable the affected parties as soon as possible.
