Asonahores assures the success of the Dominican Republic in Fitur will be felt in the results of Tourism

The National Association of Hotels and Tourism (Asonahores) assured today that the success of the Dominican Republic in the recently concluded International Tourism Fair (Fitur 2023) in Madrid, will be felt positively in the economic results that the country will have in the coming years.

The president of the entity, David Llibre, He explained through a note sent to the media, that at this year’s fair not only good agreements were reached for the arrival of tourists in 2023, but also large investment projects that will increase the country’s hotel capacity were completed.

"One of the objectives that we set ourselves in Asonahores is contribute so that the country has more rooms and greater connectivity, and in this Fitur both points were achieved. Announcements of new projects were presented not only in a tourist pole, but also in more rooms for Miches, Bávaro and Puerto Plata; plus the first hotel investment was achieved in Punta Bergantín, so we envision that these Fitur 2023 results will have a very good impact for our country" Llibre said.

As explained by Asonahores in the statement, in this edition of Fitur it was the version in which the greatest participation of the Dominican private sector has been in the history of the event, and a satisfactory level of business was reported from the exhibitors who gathered at the stand of Dominican Republic.

Llibre explained that according to official data from the Ministry of Tourism, in this edition of Fitur agreements were reached for more than 3.445 million dollars for tourism development, of which 1,645 million will be invested this year.
