AS wins two awards for excellence at the Oscars for graphic and editorial design

AS infographics has received two of the awards given each year by the prestigious Society For News Design (SND), that distinguishes the best of world journalistic design. For the 44th edition of these annual awards, a jury made up of 20 professional experts in journalism, new media and design from headlines such as The New York Times, The Washington Post or ESPN, has awarded among 1,861 online media works from around the world, two reports prepared in both cases by the infographic artist Miguel Ángel Fernández.

As defined in its bases by the organization itself, the award for excellence (Award of Excellence, the award that has been given to AS in two different sections) “recognizes outstanding and excellent visual storytelling, valuing work that goes beyond the mere technical or aesthetic skill and that go beyond the limits of originality and creativity”. Among the winners are the world’s leading newspapers, such as The New York Times, The Washington Post, Reuters, Suddeutsche Zeitung either South China Morning Post. In Spain, in addition to AS, works by El Confidencial, El Español and Ara.

The path of Real Madrid to the 14

The other piece awarded by the SND within the section of best graphic information in online sports has been a report published on May 12, 2022 linked to the world of horse riding. Under the title ‘Longines Global Champions: the great horse show’, The rules of show jumping were explained through multiple illustrations within an article in long form format, as well as the particularities of the Longines Global Champions, one of the most important competitions linked to this discipline that is popularly known as the Formula 1 of horses and that celebrates one of its stages in Madrid every year.
