Argentinos beat Banfield 2-0 at the Diego Armando Maradona stadium in La Paternal and returned to victory after three games, on the sixth round of the Professional Football League (LPF).
Gabriel Milito’s team made the difference in the second half with a header from Nicolás Reniero, after a corner kick from Gabriel Carabajal, who was in charge of scoring the second penalty goal ten minutes later.
With the result, Argentinos Juniors placed seventh in the First Division tournament with nine points, and Banfield fell back to 18th. position with six units after accumulating the second loss in a chain.
In the first half, Banfield handled the ball better than his rival and produced dangerous plays such as that of forward Luciano Pons or that of defender Lollo, with a header. The visit again warned goalkeeper Lucas Chaves with a mid-distance shot from Giuliano Galoppo, which passed very close to the left post.

After a while, Lautaro Ríos committed a penalty to Gabriel Florentín and Carabajal transformed it into the second and decisive goal of the match, in which a Banfield already weakened by the expulsion of Alexis Sosa had no answers. In added time, Argentinos suffered the expulsion of Javier Cabrera due to an elbow against Agustín Urzi.
