The soccer present of Colón (19 points) did not escape the violent context that surrounds the Santa Fe club and, behind closed doors at the Cementerio de los Elefantes stadium for security reasons, it fell 4-0 against Argentinos (33) this Monday in the afternoon.

Hours before, the vice president of Colón, Horacio Darrás, another leader and six barrabravas were arrested by the province’s Justice for the threats made to the campus last week.

Gabriel Ávalos, Gastón Verón, Javier Cabrera and Andrés Roa scored the goals for Bicho, which was two points away from getting into Libertadores 2023 positions. Gabriel Milito’s team was only two behind Gimnasia (60) and three behind River ( 61), his rival on the next date.

“We consolidated a game format. We want them not to score goals and today we took advantage of opportunities that we couldn’t in other games. We took three important points,” Paraguayan Ávalos told TNT Sports.

For his part, Colón adds a win, a draw and five losses since Rondina’s departure as DT. On the next date he will visit Estudiantes in La Plata.

The cause for threats

Darrás is one of the main leaders of the sabalero club, a representative in AFA and Conmebol, with a past as president between 2004 and 2006. In addition, the member of the board of directors Lucas Paniagua was arrested, and among the imprisoned barrabravas is Orlando Miguel Leiva , alias Nano, accused of being the leader of the “Los de siempre” faction, opposed to another group called “La negrada”.

There was also a search in the Coronda prison, where Barrabrava Abel Leiva, alias Quique, Orlando’s brother, is serving a life sentence for the murder of Walter González Montaner and had in his possession a cell phone that was seized by prison staff. .

The cause had other derivations, since in the morning hours the headquarters of Colón, located on Avenida Juan José Paso at 3500, was raided. In total there were 14 raids, 11 in homes in Santa Fe, one in the neighboring city of Santo Tomé , one in the Coronda prison and the rest in the club’s headquarters.

Darrás was singled out for having been talking with the supporters who broke into the June 4 property last Tuesday, where the squad led by Adrián Marini was training and the violent “squeeze” took place.

This is an investigation carried out by prosecutor María Laura Urquiza, from the Special Prosecution Unit for Complex Crimes of the Public Ministry of the Accusation (MPA), “for different illegal acts related to factions of the fans of Club Atlético Colón.”
