Argentine Mariano Navone won the Santa Fe Tennis Challenger after beating Paraguayan Adolfo Daniel Vallejo 6-2, 6-4 in the decisive match.
Navone, first seeded in the Santa Fe contest, born in the Buenos Aires city of 9 de Julio and ranked 191 in the ATP world ranking, beat the young Paraguayan Adolfo Daniel Vallejo (709), 19 years old, after 1 hour and 52 minutes of contention.
With the title in Santa Fe, Navone won his second Challenger tournament so far this year, having previously won in Poznan, Poland.
Prior to today’s victory against Paraguayan Adolfo Daniel Vallejo (709), Navone had beaten Brazilian Joao Victor Couto Loureiro (813), Luciano Emanuel Ambrogi (588), Nicoleño Tomás Farjat (635) and Nicolás Tomás Farjat (635) to reach the final. Francisco Comesaña from Mar del Plata (248).
The Santa Fe Challenger was held on clay courts at the Santa Fe Lawn Tennis Club facilities, in the city of the same name, and distributed a total of $40,000 in prizes.
With the achievement of Navone in Santa Fe, in Argentina, the national tennis players conquered 12 Challenger tournaments this year, the category that follows in importance to the ATP, the second obtained of the day since today Facundo Díaz Acosta from Buenos Aires was left with the Milan contest in Italy.
Previously, Juan Manuel Cerúndolo was crowned champion twice, both times at the facilities of Club Náutico Hacoaj, in the Buenos Aires city of Tigre; Facundo Díaz Acosta had also celebrated twice, in Savannah, United States, and in Oeiras, Portugal.
