Apple focused entirely on AR/VR headsets and has no room for other innovations

Apparently, Apple is completely focused on the development of its new AR/VR headset.

And, since resources are focused on the perfect operation of these equipment, there is no capacity to innovate or make major updates to the rest of the products in their portfolio.

Right now, Apple is fully focused on its AR/VR headset, having concentrated all of its resources on developing and operating this new piece of equipment. As such, it cannot significantly innovate or update other products in its portfolio.

The information comes through the journalist Mark Gurman who even anticipates which teams will leave Apple. According to this well-known Apple source, one of the devices that will be “forgotten” will be the iPad Pro. Gurman says that although the Cupertino company is working on larger screens for this line, these tablets will not be released this year.

Mark Gurman also advances that the new 11 and 12.9-inch iPad Pros with OLED screens and renewed design will not hit the market until the first half of 2024.

The well-known journalist from the Bloomberg agency goes further and guarantees that if there are updates to the base models of the iPad, iPad Air and mini, they will be limited to small performance improvements.

Also according to the same source, the same fate will be met by the Apple Watch Series 9, which should also arrive with only a few performance improvements. So it will not be in the next generation of Apple smartwatches where we will see the long-awaited blood glucose sensor.

All because Apple needs to make sure that its new headphones provide a function that justifies the high price of the equipment. This is also the most complex device the brand has ever built, and as such, it needs all the resources to be concentrated here.

These are the novelties that Apple can present

But Mark Gurman also advances with some of the innovations that we can expect to see this year in Apple equipment. It seems that the brand will launch a new, larger HomePod this year.

It is expected that the equipment will have a more affordable cost and that it will integrate a new touch panel, in the upper area, in addition to being equipped with the new S8 processor, used in the latest Apple Watch models.

Already in the iPhone 15 generation, the base models should arrive with the Dynamic Island functionality. But, once again, it will be the Pro models that arrive with more innovations, such as the new A17 Bionic processor, based on TSMC’s 3nm process.

Higher-end models will also replace the Lightning port with a USB Type-C port and feature non-physical, solid-state buttons. The integrated haptic system will guarantee the necessary feedback to the users.
