But as the American magazine explains Fortune, Apple employees began being required to return to the office at least one day a week from April 11. Then two days from May 2 and, finally, three days from May 23. But for them, it’s the last straw. In their missive to management, they say they fear for their safety, health and mental well-being.
56% of Apple employees would consider quitting
“Stop treating us like school children who have to be told when and where to be and what homework to do”, they launch in their letter. According to a survey conducted in April, 56% of Apple employees would be willing to leave the company because of this new plan to return to face-to-face work. 76% would not be satisfied with this organization.
According to a Harvard professor specializing in work, interviewed by the economic media Quartz, the apple brand could thus lose some of its best employees, attracted by the more flexible rules of competition. Apple’s director of machine learning has reportedly already announced his decision to leave the company over deep disagreements with its work-from-home policy.
