Google has regularly and predictably released a new version of its operating system every year. We currently have Android 13 as the most recent iteration available to the general public, and as a rule, covered with different interfaces.

At the same time, we already have the preview versions of Android 14. This will be the next great distribution of the Google platform, currently only available in the Developer Beta version. Furthermore, we now have confirmation of the Android 15 version name.

For interested developers, it’s been about a month since Google released the latest test version of Android 14, but few of us will have tried it. On the other hand, if you have a Google Pixel smartphone you will be at the forefront to be able to try again what really exists here.

However, we are now the version on Android 15 and the corresponding commemorative name of the version. By the way, remember that since version 1.5, known as Cupcake, Google has been using names of sweet delicacies for new builds.

Still for example, we had the Donut version, as well as the 2.0 Eclair, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean, Lollipop, etc. With that being said, the current version of Android 13 has been dubbed Tiramisu. The next version, Android 14, should be called Upside Down Cake.

Google will continue to use sweet names for Android versions

Furthermore, as the programmer now advances Misaal RahmanAlso responsible for the XDA Developers platform, Android 15 will be called Vanilla Ice Cream. That is, we will have a Vanilla Ice Cream Android 15 that will arrive somewhere in 2025, possibly.

Note that the Android 14 build name was revealed in April 2022, so we’re following roughly the same schedule for this release.
