Hiroshima (Japan) (BLAZETRENDS).- Located on the island of Ujina, five kilometers from the center of Hiroshima, the luxurious Grand Prince Hotel will be the accommodation and venue for the G7 leaders’ summit to be held from 19 to 21 May in this Japanese city.
This isolated and difficult-to-access hotel has been chosen for its high security so that the leaders of Japan, Germany, Canada, France, Italy, the United Kingdom and the United States can see each other, who will also be staying in this space.
Grand Prince Hotel
Founded in 1994, this four-star hotel welcomes its visitors with a large central fountain, which occupies a large part of the lobby, as well as some stairs that surround it to allow access to the second floor.
Access to the Grand Prince is only possible by sea through the Seto Inland Sea or by land thanks to a road that connects it with the city of Hiroshima, from which it is about 15 minutes by car, making it makes an ideal place for a meeting of this type.
The surroundings have a lush forest in which there is a temple, a private beach and a lighthouse, where fences and other security measures have already been placed before the appointment this May.
Having a difficult access and connection to the city, the hotel also has several restaurants, including one on the top floor and with a 360-degree view of the bay, as well as an onsen -thermal water bath-, spa, gym , convenience store and swimming pool, so that guests do not have to travel to the city if they do not want to.
In 2016, the hotel was also the venue for the Group of Seven Foreign Affairs meeting, in which the current Japanese Prime Minister, Fumio Kishida, who then held the Japanese Foreign Ministry under the government of Shinzo Abe, his mentor, also participated.
Although its average score in Google user reviews is good -with 4.1 stars out of 5- some of the negative comments precisely highlight the distance from the center and the feeling of isolation with comments ranging from “it’s not worth it” or “it is too far from the city”.
“They are doing maintenance for the G7 meeting, but you can easily see that some items have fallen into disrepair in recent years and now they are trying to fix everything,” one user posted in mid-April.
The leaders of the Group of Seven will meet at this Hiroshima hotel from May 19 to 21, where they are expected to send “a strong anti-nuclear message” as this city is the first in history to be attacked by an atomic bomb.
