The Health Minister of the Indian state of Orissa was shot twice in the chest by a policeman for unknown reasons and escaped.
Indian media According to the report Orissa State Health Minister Naba Kishore Das was shot twice by ASI near Gandhi Chowk when he arrived to attend a function at 1 pm.
One of the two bullets hit him in the chest, after which he was shifted to the hospital in a critical condition, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Eyewitnesses say that as soon as the Minister of Health got out of his car, the police officer on duty fired two bullets one after the other into his chest from the official pistol.
The health minister was shifted to a nearby hospital in critical condition, where he was airlifted to Bhubaneswar, where a complex operation is being performed under the supervision of a specialist doctor.
The police spokesperson says that the assistant sub-inspector who fired at the health minister has been identified as Gopal Das. The motive of the incident has not yet been determined, but further investigations are underway.
