Three influential US lawmakers have said that a strong India means a strong America. He has expressed his commitment to strengthen ties between the world’s two largest democracies at a time when the world is facing many challenges. US lawmakers made the remarks at a banquet hosted by the Indian Embassy in Washington in honor of India’s Union Science and Technology Minister Jitendra Singh.
‘A strong India means a strong America’
“I believe a strong India means a strong America,” said senior lawmaker and vice chair of the Committee on Science, Space and Technology, Hailey Stevens. “Our challenges compel us to come together as two democracies with a large geographical area facing complex global challenges ranging from climate change to pandemics. That’s why I believe in a strong Indo-US relationship.”
At the same time, MP Jerry McNearney said that a person who cannot see the importance of relations between India and America is ‘blind’. MP Deborah Ross also advocated strong ties between India and the US. Ross is a member of the House’s Science, Space and Technology Committee as well as a member of the Judicial Committee.
