American football: involved in fatal car crash, Raiders player faces up to 20 years in prison

Henry Ruggs III, player of the Las Vegas Raiders in the NFL, the big league of American football, was involved in a car accident, on the night of Monday to Tuesday, causing the death of a person.

The player, who arrived in the NFL in 2020, was driving his Chevrolet Corvette when he collided with the back of a Toyota Rav4. Responding quickly, help found a vehicle on fire and “a deceased victim inside,” Las Vegas police said on Twitter.

Remained at the scene, Henry Ruggs was taken to hospital to treat “injuries which do not put his life in danger”. According to the police, the 22-year-old athlete “incurs a charge of driving under the influence leading to death” (punishable by twenty years in prison), if the conclusions of the investigation establish it.

The Raiders franchise has made the decision to part ways with its player. “We are devastated by the death of this victim and our hearts and prayers are with his family,” added the team, which has made an excellent start to the season in the league.
