Amazon withdrew its name from the auction, there will be a bidding war on these companies, including Reliance

Amazon will not participate in the IPL (OTT) broadcast rights auction. Now Mukesh Ambani’s company is being seen as a major competitor. Earlier, Amazon was also up for auction of IPL streaming rights. But on Friday he decided to withdraw his name. BCCI will benefit thousands of crores from the IPL media rights. The IPL media rights auction will take place on June 12. These transmission rights will be for the next 5 seasons, that is, from 2023 to 2027.

In fact, Reliance is believed to be the strongest competitor for IPL media rights after the departure of Jeff Bezos’ company Amazon. Amazon is said to have invested more than $6 billion in India. In such a situation, it would not be right to spend so much on online streaming rights alone. It is worth noting that IPL has decided to bid on the electronic auction for the first time.

The IPL media rights auction will take place on June 12 at 11am. If Reliance wins this auction, then this company will retain Reliance’s media rights for the next 5 years. This time it is believed that up to Rs 50-60 billion can be bid for IPL media rights. It is worth noting that there will be 4 packs in this. The first package will contain A, B, C and D. Package A includes the television rights for the Indian subcontinent only. Package B will contain the digital rights for broadcast in the Indian subcontinent. While Package C will have digital rights for limited games like the playoffs. Aside from this, Package D will have television and digital rights for broadcast to the rest of the world.
