Alita 2: James Cameron confirms the sequels linked to the first film

Alita: Battle Angel arrived in 2019 in our cinemas. While many praised the film for its incredible technicality – we remind you, Alita is directed by Robert Rodriguez and produced by James Cameron – at the box office level, it’s grimace soup. $404 million in worldwide receipts for a feature film flirting with 170 million budget excluding marketing costs. It is of course a disappointment for Rodríguez And the fox who expected better. Result, after the merger between the 20th Century and Disneythe potential consequences from Alita have been left out. Nevertheless, Jon Landau (producer) keeps reminding that the sequel will happen given the dizzying scores ofAvatar: The Way of the Water which could partly finance the production costs. It is indeed more than $2.320 billion which arrived in the pockets of the firm with the big ears.

Rosa Salazar and Christopher Waltzrespectively performers from Alita and the Dr Ido also seem ready to re-enlist to face the villain Nova (Edward Norton). In an interview for Forbesrelayed by the media ScreenRant, james cameron finally seems to confirm the start of future sequels to Alitawhich maintains a strong fan-base around the world:

“As for Avatar, I work in Wellington and Los Angeles. And for the new Alita movies, I’ll be working in Austin. »

Austin is the place of Troublemaker Studiosthe firm belonging to Robert Rodriguez and where the first log footage was shot. However, no information on the side of disney to confirm all this so it is advisable to leave room for waiting.
